Getting started with Klaviyo Toolkit

Welcome to Klaviyo Toolkit. It sends the WooCommerce events Klaviyo misses on its own, and syncs your subscription data straight onto Klaviyo profiles. This guide gets you connected and sending in about 10 minutes.

Step 1: Connect to Klaviyo

In WordPress, go to Settings > Klaviyo Toolkit and open the Klaviyo API Keys tab.

Paste in your Klaviyo public and private API keys, then save. Both live in your Klaviyo account settings, under API keys. Once they’re in, the connection is made and data can start flowing. For the full walkthrough, see Installation and activation.

Step 2: Turn on the events Klaviyo misses

Out of the box, Klaviyo only sees a slice of what happens in your store. Klaviyo Toolkit fills the gaps.

Under Settings > Klaviyo Toolkit > Settings, enable the metrics you want to send. Two worth turning on first:

  • Order Status Changed, so you can message on fulfillment, refunds, and failed payments.
  • User Registration, so a new account can kick off a welcome.

Each event you enable lands in Klaviyo as a metric you can build flows and segments on. See the full list in Metric event details.

Step 3: Sync your subscriptions

This step is for subscription stores. If that’s not you, skip it.

Klaviyo can’t see WooCommerce subscription status on its own. In the Settings tab, turn on subscription sync and use the per-field toggles to push exactly what you need, status, renewal dates, end dates, onto the matching Klaviyo profile. Now you can segment and trigger flows on real subscription data. See Tracking subscription status.

Already have subscribers? The Tools tab exports their current status, so Klaviyo starts with the full picture. See Using the subscription status export tool.

Step 4: Put the data to work

Data flowing is the setup. The payoff is a flow that runs on it. Pick one to build:

Start with the abandoned checkout flow. It pays for the plugin fastest.
