Marketing Copywriter (Freelance)

We’re looking for a creative thinker with excellent writing skills and marketing expertise to help us elevate that work as a freelance copywriter.

You’ll work closely with the marketing team to brainstorm ideas, create concepts, and develop messaging for a variety of projects such as blog articles, landing pages, Facebook, and Google Ads. The ideal candidate will have a creative, fun, and versatile writing style.

This will be a “per project” freelance role, but we are looking for someone we can work with long-term.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have skills in direct response copy
  • Have experience with WordPress
  • Have experience writing on topics of marketing & e-commerce
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Continually raise the bar on creativity, writing fresh copy that connects with the desired audience and drives action
  • Comfortably vary voice, style, and other characteristics demanded by the industry, company, or target audience at hand
  • Stay updated on appropriate style guidelines and brand voice for consistency in messaging

Responsibilities:

  • Write original and creative blog articles about marketing topics (2-4 per week – 2000-5000 words per article)
  • Write persuasive sales copy for Facebook ads and landing pages
  • Collaborate with the marketing team from concept development to delivery of the final product
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to the internal team promptly
  • Revise copy based on internal and client feedback/direction

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of professional copywriting experience for landing pages, Facebook Ads and Google Ads with a solid portfolio of work
  • Experience working with e-commerce and/or direct consumer brands
  • Ability to work independently and with a team to meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience with SEO is a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
